Week One

So I have arrived and spent a week here in Nicaragua and let me tell God is going to do crazy things in these next couple of months. The flight into Managua was about four hours, then we all cram into the back of a truck for about three hours and then we arrived at Vision Nicaragua where we stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start off the trip. Things started off slow, we went to Patelle a local village where  we will be spending lots of time and just walked around until we were stopped but kids running out of there house and jumping into our arms. That was a blast, the people there are just very friendly and I get to play soccer every time we go pretty much. The next day we went to an orphanage about an hour out and it was so beautiful. The orphanage has an organic garden and it was amazing. My squad got to be a part of their garden and planted mango, avocado, and plantain trees (like a banana). Then we get to the weekend and we wake up on Saturday and the first thing we see is the volcano behind the compound erupting, we are all fine by the way. It was so beautiful and really helps remind you of the power that God has. On Saturday I got to experience the beach for the first time and that was such a blast besides the sunburn!! Sunday we went to a local soccer game and I really enjoyed that we got hang out with some locals and get to know them. Later that night we went to church in Patelle, everything was good we were clapping along with their songs because we had no clue what they were saying. Then one of the pastors gets up to sing and next thing you know he falls to the ground. At this moment we didn’t know what was going on. We start praying healing over this man but nothing happened. They take him out of the church and we are still praying and we carry on at church. A little later comes up and says we need to pray the spirit of death out of him. This is where things got real! So we pray and pray and he ends up dying. All the women and men start crying because they had lost one of their pastors. My squad and I take action and start laying hands on people and praying for them. I kept praying peace and strength over them. I feel that God put us in that place for that exact reason. I feel that was the begging of our ministry and I am ready for what god is going to throw at me next.
P.S. Thank you for the prayers and the support you have provided for me to go on this trip. And to see some pictures just go onto my facebook.
