I am sorry for not blogging for a little while, but kind of haven’t been feeling like blogging. Today is the day I am blogging again and I am just going to inform you on what I have been doing in the past couple weeks. Where to start….. Okay let me tell you about the baptism we went to. The baptism was at the beach and 5 people got baptized. They do it right here! Just hop in the water in all their clothes. Before they were baptized they gave a little bit of their testimony and thanked us for being there which made us feel good that they enjoyed us being there. After each person was baptized they sang this song that was the coolest little ditty. After we celebrated ate some super yummy fish and just got to hang out at the beach.
So I have been getting tired of just hanging out with kids every time we go to Bethel so me and a couple of girls in my squad started walking to the outskirts of the town and asking people if there was anything we could pray for them. The first guy we talked to pointed us to a man’s house and said this man could use pray he is really sick. We walk up and they are super welcoming and grab chairs have us sit down to chat. I was thinking where is the sick man? This man doesn’t look sick. As conversation goes on he says I am really sick and only have two months to live. There is a disease here that men get from working in the sugar Cain fields. The craziest thing about this man is the good spirit he has about that and you can only have good spirit about death when you have God and man let me tell you this man loves God. I thought I came here to do ministry, but this man has ministered to man. He is a prime example of what a man of God looks like. He is a wonderful father to his kids and loves his wife very much. I felt that this has to be hard on him because he is such a strong believer so next time I shared this verse with him. Isaiah 57 1-2 say “1.the righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away to be spared from evil. 2. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.” I just felt like he needed to hear that because he is super wise. So I have been going to hang out with him a ton and just getting to know him and his family. His name is Felix and keep him and his family in your prayers, and pray that my group and I are able to do some work at his house since he isn’t able to work. So God has really called me to him to learn about what it’s truly like to live for God. I think we should all be like him in the since that even when there is much to be happy about we have God to bring us pure Joy and that is what Felix has.
